B. Chandrasekhar, an autorickshaw driver at Yemmiganur in Kurnool district, has attracted the attention of many by designing a miniature figure of Lord Buddha and placing it in a bottle.
It took 12 hours for Mr. Chandrasekhar to create the idol using cement and paints. The idol is larger than its neck and opening and is permanently captured in the bottle. He said art required separate techniques to fit the idol into the bottle.
Mr. Chandrasekhar, an Intermediate dropout, was drawn to drawing while in school. By the time he passed fifth class, the drawing teacher acknowledged his drawing skill and encouraged him in the subject. He took to idol making five years ago and has created figures of various leaders, including NTR. Mr. Chandrasekhar ekes out a living by driving an autorickshaw.
